Care Partners & Community Resources
At Personal Touch Placement Services, we do more than help families find care homes—we connect them with a full spectrum of support services to ensure peace of mind, dignity, and well-informed decisions. Below are the trusted resources and services we regularly coordinate with on behalf of our clients.
Hospice & Palliative Care Consulting
With over 25 years of hospice experience, Bruce Bednar provides compassionate and knowledgeable guidance to families facing end-of-life decisions. Whether you’re unsure if it’s time for hospice, need help understanding what it truly offers, or simply want a no-pressure consultation, Bruce is here to help.
He walks with families through this delicate transition, ensuring that care is aligned with values, comfort, and quality of life. His insight and calm demeanor bring clarity and comfort during one of life’s most emotional seasons.
Home Caregiving & Home Health Referrals
We maintain strong partnerships with local home care and home health agencies. Whether your loved one needs assistance with daily activities, medication reminders, or in-home nursing support, we make personalized referrals to agencies we trust.
VA Aid & Attendance and Veterans Benefits Support
Many veterans and their spouses are unaware they may qualify for VA Aid & Attendance, a benefit that can help offset costs related to long-term care, in-home support, or assisted living. Bruce works directly with veterans and their families to help them understand what’s available, how to apply, and who to contact for expert claims assistance.
Home Modification Consulting & Safe-Home Assessments
Aging safely at home starts with the right environment. We connect families with home modification specialists who can evaluate the home and recommend practical changes—like grab bars, ramps, and bathroom adjustments—to reduce fall risk and support independence.
Fall Prevention Education
We coordinate with physical therapy and home health professionals who offer fall risk assessments, home safety evaluations, and balance-improving strategies to help seniors stay on their feet and out of the ER.
Care Coordination & Management
For families managing complex medical and care situations, we can connect you with care managers who coordinate across doctors, care agencies, and facilities. These professionals serve as advocates and navigators—especially helpful for families caring from a distance or managing multiple providers.
Patient Advocacy
Sometimes families need a knowledgeable voice at the table—someone who can interpret care plans, advocate for fair treatment, or help mediate between providers. We can introduce you to trusted patient advocates who ensure your loved one is seen as a person, not a chart.
Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT)
Need help getting to appointments, procedures, or even transitioning to a new care setting? We partner with licensed and reliable transportation providers who specialize in safe, comfortable travel for seniors and those with mobility challenges.
Professional Moving Services
Downsizing, relocating to assisted living, or clearing out a long-time home can be emotionally and physically overwhelming. We connect families with senior-friendly moving specialists who handle everything from packing and hauling to setting up the new space with care and compassion.
Assisted Living Waiver Program (ALW)
For those eligible, the ALW offers financial assistance to help low-income individuals access care in assisted living rather than a skilled nursing facility. We work with agencies who help families understand if they qualify and how to apply.
Real Estate & Long-Term Care Financing Resources
Paying for long-term care is often one of the biggest concerns families face. We refer to vetted professionals who can help unlock equity through the sale of a home, a reverse mortgage, or other funding options tailored to your needs.
Personal touch is exactly what this placement service is! The owner Bruce, takes great pride in making sure you've selected the best board and care for your loved one. As an introduction to himself, he spent a lot of time on the phone explaining what he does, his qualifications and what we were looking for in a board and care. Then, he escorted us to three homes, but was willing to take us to more if we wanted. My mom was reluctant to go for a short term stay. Bruce spent time easing her fears. Because I had to make this placement in a emergency situation, the doctor could not get my paperwork in order to admit her on time. Bruce negotiated that for me and then went to my doctor's office to pick up and then deliver it to the care home, because I wasn't able to!!!! Amazing! While there, he checked in on my mom, played word searches with her and made sure she was doing alright. He constantly kept in contact with me while I was away and made me feel at ease leaving my mom for a few weeks. He is kind, considerate and a very hard worker. I would absolutely recommend Bruce and Personal Touch to anyone looking for a board and care. He's the best!
Bruce was wonderful in helping me find a home, on very short notice, for my 96 yr old mother. I was out of state when my mother fell and fractured her tailbone. She was in a rehad center for 8 days when I was informed on a Wednesday that my mother was being released from rehab the following Tuesday. I had no idea what I was going to do. I called her church and they put me in touch with Bruce, with Personal Touch Placement Services. When talking with Bruce via phone, he was very understanding of my situation, explaining his years of experience in dealing with the elderly and people in hospice. I told him the part of town I wanted to place my mother, and he got to work finding homes with openings and setting up appointments for me to visit. I was flying into Burbank late on a Friday night and I had until Monday to make a decision. Saturday morning he met me at the rehab center so he could meet my mother. He had a great bedside manner with her and spent time getting to know her. After meeting my mother we went to view a couple of homes. At every home we visited he knew the owners, the caregivers, and information about the homes. Sunday we looked at 2 more homes. We discussed the likes, dislikes, and his knowledge of each home. I made a decision and he helped me with all the paperwork. Bruce did all the work! I was so blessed to have him in my corner. He was there the day my mother was transferred from the rehab facility to the board and care home. After my mother was in the home, he didn't forget about her. He visited and spent time with her. Bruce was a blessing from God!!
When Bruce heard we were looking for a place for my husband as a transition from skilled nursing, he used his connections in the industry and found us the perfect place within a few days. He met with the owner and invited me to also come meet her. Not only did he find the right place that catered to our special needs, but he also visited regularly to see how things were going. He delivered excellent service with a smile - and a few stories!
I reached out to Bruce Bednar to assist placing my 91 year old cousin into a Board and Care facility. Bruce was easy to work with and very knowledgeable. He recommended benefits that my cousin, a veteran, was eligible for. I highly recommend Bruce and Personal Touch Placement Service.
I cannot begin to express my eternal gratitude for Bruce at Personal Touch placement services. His sensitivity to the individual, the unique situation, his ability to find the right place to suit the family and patient's needs and to walk you through each step to ensure safety and success is so personal and one of a kind in an age of robots and AI. He is also incredibly kind and personable. I highly recommend him for the services he provides! Thank you again Bruce, you're the best!
I was recommended to contact Bruce Bednar through a Facebook group when seeking assistance to find a higher level of care for my mother. From our first conversation, Bruce’s professionalism and empathy reassured me that he would guide us to the right solution. He took the time to thoroughly explain the options, demonstrating remarkable patience and kindness during this challenging process. Together, we toured facilities, discussing my mother’s specific needs and our family’s priorities, ensuring a tailored approach. Bruce has remained an invaluable resource, offering ongoing support as I navigate end-of-life decisions for my mother. I am deeply grateful for his dedication and compassionate care, and I wholeheartedly recommend his services to anyone facing similar circumstances.
